A wet apple slides; a dry one prints. A three year old can stamp, dot fingerprints, tear red paper and press pom poms on the tree. Cutting the letter a, winding the yarn and placing the name letters in order are the parts a five year old does and a three year old watches. Count the fingerprint apples out loud as they go on the tree, and say the sound: a, a, apple. The apple name craft is a good first look at the letters in the child's own name.
