Paint your child's hand and press it sideways in the upper half of the blue paper. 2. Wash, then repeat in the other colour in the lower half. 3. Let the prints dry, then glue 1 googly eye on the palm end of each fish and draw a small smile. 4. You cut 2 wavy green strips. Glue them standing up from the bottom edge as seaweed. 5. Folding **You need:** 1 white paper square, crayons, 1 wooden craft stick, 1 brass paper fastener, red paper How to make it 1. Your child scribbles crayon on both sides of the square. 2. You cut from each corner toward the centre, stopping short of the middle. 3. Fold every second corner point in to the centre. 4. Push the fastener through the 4 points and the centre, then through the top of the stick, and open its legs flat on the back. Cut a small red circle and slip it over the fastener. Puffy paint ice cream cone The child mixes shaving cream with glue and a little paint and dollops the fluffy mix on top of a paper cone. Fits June: Summer and Ice cream. **You need:** light blue cardstock, brown paper, shaving cream, white glue, pink paint, rainbow sprinkles How to make it 1. You cut a brown triangle and glue it point down on the light blue cardstock as the cone. 2. Mix shaving cream, white glue and pink paint into thick puffy paint. 3. Your child spoons and spreads a thick mound above the cone as a round scoop. 4. Drop sprinkles on the wet paint. Leave it flat to dry for a day. Your child colours faces and clothes with crayons, with 2 dot eyes and a smile on each. 3. Glue short yarn scraps on as hair. 4. Glue each person to the top of a craft stick. Build it **You need:** 1 egg carton cup, blue paint, 2 googly eyes, 1 light blue pipe cleaner, blue paper, glue How to make it 1. You cut one cup from the carton. Your child paints it blue. Let it dry. 2. Glue 2 googly eyes on the front. 3. Cut a small blue paper tail with two points and glue it on the back so it sticks up behind. 4. Make a hole in the top with a pencil. Your child folds the pipe cleaner in half and pushes it in, then curls the two ends outward as the spout. Craft stick photo frame The child glues four craft sticks into a square, decorates it and backs it with a family photo or drawing. Fits June: Christmas and Mother's Day. Build it **You need:** 4 jumbo craft sticks, markers, foam heart stickers, 1 square of white paper with a drawing, glue How to make it 1. Your child colours the sticks with markers. 2. Glue the 4 sticks into a square with the ends overlapping at the corners. 3. Stick hearts on the sticks. 4. Glue the white square with the drawing behind the frame. Nothing matches that filter. Clear it and try again. ## June crafts for 3 year olds These 2 need no exact cutting and no small pieces, so a young three can do most of it alone: [Paper plate jellyfish](https://kindergarten-prep.com/blog/june-crafts-for-preschoolers#c136), [Paper plate sun](https://kindergarten-prep.com/blog/june-crafts-for-preschoolers#c254). ## Father's Day gifts and ocean crafts with a 3 year old For Father's Day, the scribble mug, the painted rock paperweight and the paper trophy for Dad are the three to pick from. The mug needs an oven and an adult to bake it, so do it a day or two ahead. The paper plate jellyfish and paper plate sun are the low-prep ones. Dot markers or yellow paint, a half or whole plate, and a three year old does it alone. You tape the tentacle ribbons on. The shark suncatcher and the tissue paper sun suncatcher use sticky contact paper, so there is no glue. Peel the backing, let your child press tissue squares on, and hang it in a sunny window the same day. The bubble wrap jellyfish and the puffy paint ice cream cone are the messy ones. Do them outside on a towel, with a hose or a bowl of water close by for hands. ## What you need for June crafts Most of these use the same handful of supplies: glue, googly eye, black marker, white paper plate, blue paper, yellow paper, crayon, wooden craft stick.
