Looking for show and tell letter G ideas? Most things that start with G say the hard sound in goat and grapes, but a few, like giraffe and gem, say /j/ instead, so each item below is marked by sound. Pick something your preschooler can carry, practice two short sentences, and show and tell (or show and share, as some classrooms call it) is ready. The top ten come with words to say.

G usually says **/g/**, as in **g**oat and **g**rapes. In giraffe, gem and gingerbread it says /j/ instead, and in gnome it is silent. Those still start with G, but an item that says /g/ matches what the class is practicing.

## What to say at letter G show and tell

Three short sentences are enough for a three to five year old. Practice once at home with the item in hand.

1. **Name it.** "This is my glove."
2. **Say the letter.** "Glove starts with G. G, glove."
3. **Tell one thing.** "It keeps my hand warm."

**For a child who loves an audience:** hide the item in a bag and give three clues. "It is soft. It has five fingers. It starts with G." The class guesses before the reveal.
