Looking for show and tell letter Z ideas? Z comes last, and it sends many parents searching the night before. Things that start with Z are closer than they seem: a zipper on a jacket, a Ziploc bag, a toy zebra, a zucchini, a big zero. Pick one item your preschooler likes, practice two sentences, and show and tell (or show and share, as some classrooms call it) is ready.

## What to say at letter Z show and tell

Three short sentences are enough for a three to five year old. Practice once at home with the item in hand.

1. **Name it.** "This is my zebra."
2. **Say the letter.** "Zebra starts with Z. Zzz, zebra."
3. **Tell one thing.** "It has black and white stripes."

**For a child who loves an audience:** hide the item in a bag and give three clues. "It looks like a horse. It has stripes. It starts with Z." The class guesses before the reveal.

Toddlers (2 to 3)

Preschoolers (3 to 5)
