Let it dry. 2. You cut a white oval and glue it on the front as the tummy. Your child presses the 2 googly eyes on above it. 3. Cut a small orange triangle beak and 2 orange feet. Glue the beak below the eyes and the feet flat under the bottom edge. 4. Cut 2 black wings. Fold a narrow tab along the inner edge of each wing, glue the tab flat against the side of the tube and bend the wing outward along the fold. Nothing matches that filter. Clear it and try again. ## Painting a cardboard tube with a 3 year old Wrapping the tube in colored paper is faster than painting it and there is nothing to dry. Where the craft says paint, stand the tube on a bit of scrap cardboard, let the child paint the top half, dry, then flip it. A three year old can paint, press on eyes and push in pipe cleaner antennae with help. Snipping the octopus legs, folding the frog legs and cutting wings are adult jobs, so cut the parts first and set them out in a tray. Tubes are the right size for small hands, so the bee, frog, penguin and reindeer end up in the toy box and get played with. The rocket and the windsock hang from a string. For Christmas, make the reindeer, snowman and penguin together as a set for the windowsill.
