Fold the cardstock in half and lay it closed with the front facing up. 2. Dab your child's fingertip in paint and press it on the card at an angle. Press a second print next to it so the two meet at the bottom in a V. That is one heart. 3. Make more hearts in red and pink, leaving white sapce between them. 4. Let the paint dry before opening the card. For the others, you cut and they glue. ## Valentine crafts with a 3 year old: hearts and glue Cut a stack of paper hearts in three sizes before the child sits down. With hearts ready, a three year old can build the heart puppy and the love bug with a glue stick and no scissors. A three year old can fingerprint a card, tear paper for the pieces heart and stick tissue on the suncatcher. Lacing the valentine holder and threading pasta need an adult to start the yarn, and the footprint heart needs an adult on the paint. Make the valentine holder first, a few days before the class party, so it is dry and ready for the cards. The fingerprint heart card works as a class card: one card, twenty fingerprints.
