4 Pet Crafts for Preschoolers (Easy Ideas)

4 Pet crafts for preschoolers, each with a picture and simple steps. Easy ideas for ages 3 to 5 using paper, paint, and glue.

A pet craft is a face: ears, a nose, eyes, and the child decides who it is. Here are four pet crafts for preschoolers, each with a picture, supplies, and steps, from a paper plate bunny to a heart puppy and a Pete the Cat mask to wear.

A three-year-old glues on the ears, nose, and eyes you cut, roughly where they go. A five-year-old folds the puppy's heart ears and helps cut the eye holes in the mask. Pet Week and a new animal at home are the reasons.

Start here: three pet crafts that always work

Pet crafts: faces, puppets and a mask to wear

Cut the parts in advance and lay them out like a kit: ears, eyes, nose, whiskers. Then the paper plate bunny and the bag puppet are glue-only for a three year old.

For the heart puppy, fold a sheet of paper and cut half a heart three times, big, medium and small. Your child opens them and builds the face.

An adult cuts the eye holes for the mask. Hold the plate up to your child's face first and mark where the eyes go with a pencil.

The puppet and the mask are for play afterward. The plate bunny and the heart puppy go on the fridge, or in an envelope to a grandparent with a pet.
