Free Preschool Math Worksheets: Counting, Patterns and Number Tracing

Free preschool math worksheets: counting worksheets, count and color pages, pattern completion and number tracing 1 to 10, in themed PDF packs.

Preschool math is counting things that are actually there, noticing what comes next, and writing the numbers 1 to 10. These preschool math worksheets do exactly that: find and count hidden pictures in a scene, complete a pattern by circling what comes next, and count a box of pictures and trace the number.

Counting, patterns and numbers

Every themed pack has four math pages. All free, delivered as one PDF when you pick a theme.

The packs with preschool math worksheets

Counting worksheets

Each pack has two search and count pages, an easier one with a few big pictures to find and a harder one with more. Circle each one, then count. Counting things you had to find first sticks better than counting a row.

Count and color

Under each scene is a row of the same pictures to colour, one for each you found, and the number to trace. Count, colour, trace: three passes over the same quantity.

Pattern worksheets

AB patterns first, then ABC and AAB. Say the pattern out loud together, then let your child circle what comes next. Patterns are the start of algebra, though nobody needs to tell a four year old that.

Number tracing and number recognition

Six boxes, six numbers from 1 to 10, traced in our own dotted font. Seeing the numeral right next to the counted pictures is what builds number recognition. More tracing pages live on our tracing worksheets page.

Preschool math activities without a worksheet

Count the stairs. Set the table and count the forks. Sort socks by colour. Ask who has more grapes. A preschooler's math is mostly spoken, and a worksheet is just the quiet version.

Questions parents ask

What math should a preschooler know?

Counting real objects to ten with one touch per object, recognising the numerals 1 to 10, comparing more and less, naming basic shapes and continuing a simple pattern. That covers what most kindergartens hope to see.

Are these preschool math worksheets free?

Yes. Each themed pack is a free PDF by email, with four math pages inside.

Is this a preschool math curriculum?

No, these are practice pages. For a planned daily activity picked for your child's level, see Kindy, our parent-led plan. It starts with the free five-minute check.
