3 Duck Crafts for Preschoolers (Easy Ideas)

3 duck crafts for preschoolers, each with a picture and simple steps. Easy ideas for ages 3 to 5 using paper, paint, and glue.

Yellow paint and an orange triangle, and there is the duck. Here are three duck crafts for preschoolers, each with a picture, supplies, and steps: a handprint duck, a paper plate duck, and five pom-pom ducks on a painted pond for the song.

Spring, farm week, and the letter D week are when these turn up. A three-year-old presses the handprint and paints half a plate yellow. A five-year-old cuts the head, beak, and feet alone and counts the pom-pom ducks down to none, then back up again.

Start here: three duck crafts that always work

Duck crafts: yellow paint, orange beaks and counting to five

Brush the paint onto the palm rather than dipping, press, lift straight up. The fingers become tail feathers, so spread them wide.

For the paper plate duck, fold the plate in half first. A three year old paints the outside and you cut the head and feet from orange and yellow paper.

The pom pom ducks on a pond pair with the five little ducks song. Add one duck for each verse, and take them away for the counting back.

Tie in the D sound: 'duh, duck' as the beak goes on. Hang the handprint duck where your child can see it and say it again.
