6 Friendship Crafts for Preschoolers (Easy, With Pictures)

6 friendship crafts for preschoolers, each with a picture and simple steps. Easy ideas for ages 3 to 5 for Friendship Week, Valentine's Day, or any day.

Giving something away is a new idea at three, and a pasta necklace for a friend is a good first gift. Here are six friendship crafts for preschoolers, each with a picture, the supplies, and the steps.

Families make these for Friendship Week, the days before Valentine's, and playdates that need a plan. A three-year-old threads dyed pasta onto yarn and paints a kindness rock with one big heart. A five-year-old asks you to write a kind thing on each petal of the kindness flower.

Start here: three friendship crafts that always work

Friendship crafts with a 3 or 4 year old

Dye the pasta the night before, in a bag with a splash of vinegar and food coloring, and spread it to dry. Then the necklace is a threading job with no wait.

A three can thread pasta onto yarn with a taped end and paint a rock. The kindness flower needs you to write the petals, and the rainbow fish needs an adult to cut the plate.

The quilt crafts are for a group. Give each child one square, then lay them out on the floor together and talk about the pattern before you tape them.

The necklace is for a friend, the rocks go on a walk, and the flower goes home. The quilt stays on the wall at school for the year.

What you need for friendship crafts

Most of these use the same handful of supplies: glue, coloured paper, black marker, glue stick, white paper plate, tissue paper squares in a few colour, square of foil, self-adhesive googly eye. Everything else is named on the craft it belongs to.
